In deep despair! ..my closet.....

I have orders from headquarters to get rid of my old faithful dresses that I have had for the past millenia (some newer of course) so I tackled that this week. I am a tight wad  that has not sewed for herself (  and doesn't like to sew for herself) for too long(with the exception of a few now and then) . I'd much rather sew for the girls because it's quick and they fit!
My size has changed too many times over the past 17 years with gaining and losing baby fat and now I dont have excuses anymore for being whatever size I am! ...as if I knew what size I am anyway! I love shopping but hate clothes shopping , nothing fits the way I like and my feet are fat and shoes are hard to find !
So here I am going through my old faithfuls, how can I get rid of dresses that are still good but that I despise? Like I said I am a tight wad (with no fashion sense at all)  If I were to go through my closet, I'd probably get rid of most of my clothes... So my spring project ....sew!!!!
I'm going to California with husband in April, so thats a good excuse to get some new clothes and go shopping!
...and since spring is just around the corner, :), i'm gonna have to shed my sweaters, vests, jackets etc. ,so its time to shape up! I can't wait to get out there and rake my yard and dig in flowerbeds!

  1. My closet has the same story going on Sharon... I liked your closet story... I think A lot of us must be thinking spring cleaning.

  2. I hate throwing dresses away that still have use in them; but what I hate even more is for them to hang in my closet. So one of the solutions that I like is to cut a dress apart and make it for an everyday dress for my girls. I don't throw it and they get a new dress.

  3. Be Brave! Love your closet candor. Sometimes I wear something that I simply know I must not wear ever again. I'm done with that outfit, done with that part of my life.

Kitchen Remodel...

This was the beginning of a terrible messy job of remodeling our kitchen. Norv and John Schlabach did the work of ripping off the ceiling and putting a new one on, insulating the new part (Samantha did that, crawling around up there) and then installing new cabinets. But before that could be done , they had to move the window, put drywall mud on the walls to cover up and blend together all the different wall coverings, rip out old cupboards, move the water lines for the dishwasher and new sink.... and this was all done in 5 days! This was open to the outside for a few days, so we stayed at Norv's folks while this was being done... see the original trailer roof shape? Here is the finished product! I got my curtains hung and the only thing missing is the microwave hood that may never be! I'd like to actually put a shelf in it's place. Looking toward the living room from the island...I love my shelf that just happened to appear after the ceiling got ripped off, the end
