Don't have a heart attack, it's me again!

Yes sir,I'm back and I did miss doing this blog but I really didn't have an excuse! These are my reasons for my absence, whether you want to hear them or not! (It sounds worse written down)

#1 my computer gave up the ghost along with my pictures on them but there is hope for 'em I understand! The hard drive can be taken in to our computer geek at church and get them off for me, so as soon as he does that I want to get christmas cards done...that time of the year already??? I skipped the last two years so this year I'm gonna! So long story short all my blogging has to be done with my phone which is SLOW!

#2- the next most obvious reason is THE STORE! Its been busy for us this fall and with ordering and everything that the store and my family REQUIRES, some days I don't know if I'm coming or going!

We've been getting a website designed so you can go to sharonscountrystore.com and see us! And for people on facebook, we're on there too! People have been telling us to get our info out there so we did!

More projects that we got our selves into this fall was clearing the pasture area of all the trees so we can grow grass for our 3 horses! We got a cat in to dig out the stumps and smooth every thing out, now next spring we need to get it seeded! We got rid of 70 trees including the ones along the lane and the yard. They were only ugly pines that shed cones but along with that went my old fence lining the lane
And that I didn't like but it was unavoidable, so that'll be another project for spring. And in my yard I want to plant another weeping willow tree for my kids to climb! They are my favorite trees, probably cause I grew up with em and had many a house in those branches! I think every place I've lived so far, I've planted a weeping willow.

We also did some work in the house enclosing the front half of the trailer and made a room for my stuff. All my sewing stuff gets a home in one spot finally, now I just have to set a heater in to heat my frigid room so I can sew(except my machine went ka-put too so I gotta fix that too).

Oh well at least we're having fun in our shack on top of the hill, we got enough wood for the winter and all the food we need at the store! I'll be back........(When everything gets fixed). :)

  1. I love your farm now, even before getting it all fixed up. And that musta been one mean kitty that it could dig out stumps. I want one.

The pros of owning a bulk food store!

...trying out a Himalayan Pink Salt block from a customer! "would I carry this, please"? (Do I crush it or just pass it around the table?) :) .....i take all the produce home that get bumped and briused. Onions get chopped and frozen, which I love having on hand ,just don't like too many at a time! ....grabbing baking stuff off the shelves, including many items I normally wouldn't get, like mini m&m bits! Funny tho', my spices containers are emptier than ever, I forget to pick them up 'cause I don't have a grocery list anymore! ....farm fresh eggs from local farmers! ....i get to test out the latest kitchen gadgets, including the broken stuff! ....meat and cheese ends from the deli, they make wonderful snacks when having  friends over!

I’m Back!

I’ve been thinking the last few weeks of this poor forsaken blog, so I looked up the other day and it was actually 2012 that I quit. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then and our family has grown and there’s been lots of changes and a wedding and a daughter-in-law and grandbaby coming and now we’re having another wedding In a few weeks! Wow , you never know what will happen in six more years! I thought about trying to catch up over our lives the last few years, but most of you already know What all we’ve been up to so I’m not gonna try! I’m just going to start where we are now! This is going to be a year to remember for sure! 2018, Who would’ve thought, that we would be facing cancer, looking forward to being grandparents, having a 19-year-old daughter getting married, another daughter dating!  It’s almost mind-boggling, but I am reminded  that when I started this blog and I was a busy younger mother with six little kids, that I literally took one day...

Kitchen Remodel...

This was the beginning of a terrible messy job of remodeling our kitchen. Norv and John Schlabach did the work of ripping off the ceiling and putting a new one on, insulating the new part (Samantha did that, crawling around up there) and then installing new cabinets. But before that could be done , they had to move the window, put drywall mud on the walls to cover up and blend together all the different wall coverings, rip out old cupboards, move the water lines for the dishwasher and new sink.... and this was all done in 5 days! This was open to the outside for a few days, so we stayed at Norv's folks while this was being done... see the original trailer roof shape? Here is the finished product! I got my curtains hung and the only thing missing is the microwave hood that may never be! I'd like to actually put a shelf in it's place. Looking toward the living room from the island...I love my shelf that just happened to appear after the ceiling got ripped off, the end ...
