....summertime....

Just a photo update of our life.. summer is officially here and so is our warm weather, for the most part we are loving it..i love seeing the garden finally getting green and stuff growing. The days get warm for our trailer sitting in the blazing sun, so I take advantage of the air conditioning at the store in the afternoons... and we'll hit the swimming holes a few times..




..for once he's not making a face at the camera.. he's heading to boys camp in about two weeks, Norv hates being the only male around here.. we def. will miss him in more ways than just getting my lawn done!

This weird strawberry plant has at least 30 berries on it, looks like its a quirk of nature, the stem is prob. 1/2 inch wide with a multitude of them grown together. Ellie discovered my patch so my unripe ones are getting devoured...

    K, I tried to do this before and it disappeared entirely. So who is eating the strawberries before they are ripe? Good pics of all the kiddos.

The pros of owning a bulk food store!

  ...trying out a Himalayan Pink Salt block from a customer! "would I carry this, please"? (Do I crush it or just pass it around the table?) :) .....i take all the produce home that get bumped and briused. Onions get chopped and frozen, which I love having on hand ,just don't like too many at a time! ....grabbing baking stuff off the shelves,including many items I normally wouldn't get, like mini m&m bits! Funny tho', my spices containers are emptier than ever, I forget to pick them up 'cause I don't have a grocery list anymore! ....farm fresh eggs from local farmers! ....i get to test out the latest kitchen gadgets,including the broken stuff! ....meat and cheese ends from the deli, they make wonderful snacks when having  friends over!

Kitchen Remodel...

This was the beginning of a terrible messy job of remodeling our kitchen. Norv and John Schlabach did the work of ripping off the ceiling and putting a new one on, insulating the new part (Samantha did that, crawling around up there) and then installing new cabinets. But before that could be done , they had to move the window, put drywall mud on the walls to cover up and blend together all the different wall coverings, rip out old cupboards, move the water lines for the dishwasher and new sink.... and this was all done in 5 days! This was open to the outside for a few days, so we stayed at Norv's folks while this was being done... see the original trailer roof shape? Here is the finished product! I got my curtains hung and the only thing missing is the microwave hood that may never be! I'd like to actually put a shelf in it's place. Looking toward the living room from the island...I love my shelf that just happened to appear after the ceiling got ripped off, the end

Fall and Winter 2010...playing catch-up

This post is a combination of fall and winter pictures that loaded backwards so bear with me... Best Friends... ..I love decorations... a sign that a vender had at the store this Christmas.... Christmas cookies anybody???? black n white beauty.... beautiful snowy morning.... a project the girls enjoyed.... Christmas at our house ,,lots of games... Lovin' that chubby baby boy... Serious conversation... Some hoodlum that showed up at our Women's evening dress-up at Truss Tek...lots of fun! Birthday Girl.. 6 years old Norv enjoying a Tim Horton's on the beach off of Zuckerburg Island in BC. We went to Castlegar on our anniversary and enjoyed a beautiful drive on the way...the mountains in BC are so pretty in the fall. 16 years and counting............................ With 5 girls in the house there is lots of goofiness and dressing up, just one of the many pictures that get found on my camera...
