Life...One Day @ a Time...

We had to run the store today,all of us were in today! Some days the little's are at Grandma's or home with me while Norv runs the front...its always a challenge to keep everybody busy and happy and stay out of the way. Today they took legos along and found some rubber band guns that I had got in ,you can imagine the rubberbands everywhere! They got sent outside for a while to burn some energy and then clean up their mess... Seems like everyone is getting their Christmas shopping done, the store was busy! We've got an interesting shopping evening coming up next saturday! A lot of businesses in BF are gonna stay open till 9:00 pm to draw holiday shoppers and promote shopping local so we're joining 'em! We have some gift baskets to give away and samples of our food and some sales so if your in the area stop in! We are going to Newport tomorrow for church, we're supposed to get more snow which will be nice except for traveling... We got rain on our beautiful

Yes sir,I'm back and I did miss doing this blog but I really didn't have an excuse! These are my reasons for my absence,whether you want to hear them or not! (It sounds worse written down) #1 my computer gave up the ghost along with my pictures on them but there is hope for 'em I understand! The hard drive can be taken in to our computer geek at church and get them off for me, so as soon as he does that I want to get christmas cards done...that time of the year already??? Wow, winter has hit us full force! We are having lots of snow this week and the kids are loving a short week from school! It finally warmed up from a FRIGID single digits (and below zero) to almost 30 degrees today! My windows get all frosty in my unheated sewing room that was supposed to be my hideout! But it actually helps us out by helping us heat the rest of the house, my room takes up the front half of the trailer. Those windows are single pane and absolutely worthless!! That's our next to - do project! I think I'm gonna get some styrofoam insulation and covers them up for the winter! They'll look mighty ugly on the outside...what could I do to dress em up??? We had a fun thanksgiving at Bruce and Shilah's and had way to much food to eat, the kids went sledding, the big boys went hunting and Alex was rewarded with a nice buck. I sure hope you don't get tired of my blogs full of pictures, 'cause they say more than a thousand words could...I'm not a fast typer either ... We had a late Birthday Party for Mom Skrivseth outside on my feeble looking lawn, the day was so nice and i didn't have shade on any other part of my lawn (the part that is flat) :) Hopefully by next spring we'll have improved the front lawn. We have been enjoying our beautiful weather since summer is well on its way to disappearing faster than it came.. since Geneva and Ryan are here we did some fun things with 'em , Smith Lake for supper and fishing and swimming. Our muggy weather makes everybody kinda grouchy around my house, so we've been taking the kids to the lakes to cool off. ..an absolutely , heavenly nite , so peaceful and quiet. Samantha was helping Emily and Toria bait their hooks and take their fish off, they both caught some! Emily was so impressed with Toria's Barbie fishing pole and tackle box...or was it princess?? ..these guys weren't too successful, they are both heading off to boys camp this week....

Just a photo update of our life.. summer is officially here and so is our warm weather, for the most part we are loving it..i love seeing the garden finally getting green and stuff growing. The days get warm for our trailer sitting in the blazing sun, so I take advantage of the air conditioning at the store in the afternoons... and we'll hit the swimming holes a few times.. ..for once he's not making a face at the camera.. he's heading to boys camp in about two weeks, Norv hates being the only male around here.. we def. will miss him in more ways than just getting my lawn done! ..big sis...little sis... This weird strawberry plant has at least 30 berries on it, looks like its a quirk of nature, the stem is prob. 1/2 inch wide with a multitude of them grown together. Since last November we've had two baby goats born to "Jennie" , a pygmy we got from Nelson and Donna years ago. They have been roaming as they please around this land and now that my garden is in , the last thing I need are goats in there,so we decided we need to get rid of them 'cause we didn't have a pen big enough for three... So we are down to two goats now as of Thurs. night...a guy stopped by the store ,heard we had a goat to give away, so Norv took "Lucky" to a goat farm just north of here. This old couple has a hobby farm and Lucky joined about 20 + other goats there! Julianna is playing with the newest baby .....baby and mom roam the yard freely and last week I discovered some of the leaves on my plants were chewed off, so they are banned to their pen.. this little guy is more sociable than the other one was, he'll jump up on the kids backs, dancing around and just being cute! too bad they don't stay that way... ..took this at ch

Yest. was our long ,awaited school picnic day ! Of course we always wish for a nice day because of track and field outside, but we suffered yesterday! It was so COLD and windy, but those kids were running around in bare feet like it was hot, just made me shiver looking at 'em. Jeff and Loretta make their yummy grilled chicken for supper and we had strawberry pie, so that part ended up being the best , in my opinion .... I like food , can you tell? Well May 1st came and went ...nothing to brag about. It was a cold , rainy ,sun-shone- a - little - bit kind of day...I went out this afternoon and actually got some work done on my flowerbeds... got Cody to haul some dirt around and fill some new beds. Now that Cody got the four wheeler, jobs are fun again...of course everyone jumps at the sound of it starting up, Ellie is the worst! She thinks she owns it and everyone is to give her rides. She makes a beeline for it every time she's outside, climbs up as far as she can and yells... She is starting to imitate everybody and of course she gets the laughs she wants...'fraid this one will turn into a B-R-A-T... Norv went to an auction in St. Ignatius, MT. with Charles Schrock. In the last few days she's: -drank vinegar, and liked it, that somebody left in a cup, don't ask.. - took a shaver and swiped it at her hair and took a chunk of hair off the front... -has no fear of our steep front yard and lane and will wander down the "mountainside", once she gets rolling, watch out!

Whew...where does the time go? It's almost the end of April and school's coming to a fast end! We'll be happy for that. Even tho' its been a good year, the warm weather always gets the kids restless and harder to get out the door in the mornings, esp. with a four-wheeler sittin' by the front door , ready to ride! Yes, we splurged and bought a used one from Jevon, its faded and old but its a FOUR WHEELER! Now choring it such a pleasure, you know our lane is so long......... We teased Cody if he'd walk any slower he'd fall over as he ambled up the lane, to and from feeding animals. Now that spring is finally here and it's time to think gardening, i'm itching to get started on fixing up our greenhouse that the neighbors had, and did'nt want anymore. (it caved in due to snow) It'll take some fixing up , the pipes bent, so Norv will have to take a torch to it. ...And with our deer problem, we'll have to fence our garden. I want to cover it

...its another day,not much changes,BUT its my BIRTHDAY and I'm going to enjoy my day off...from working at the store,from cleaning my house,from cooking meals,my work will be there tomorrow! My sweet sis-in-law, Judy, planned a shopping day for Mom-in-law, Shilah and April And I,so we hit Goodwill and about 3 other thrift stores and of course STARBUCKS on the way home! ..And to top it off ,Norv brought a Cheesecake home from our NEW Safeway, absolutely delicious! So now I am loaded with sugar from all that chocolate and I am wide awake! I should go do laundry... We hauled home our neighbors fallen-over- in -the -wind greenhouse,( its HUGE!) And hopefully with a torch and some man power we can straighten out the bent metal poles and get it set up soon! Never in all my born days did I think I'd get a greenhouse! What an absolutely beautiful day...we don't have church tonite , so we are enjoying a lazy day at home after our hectic last two weeks of working at re-arranging the store again!!! I think we're done expanding, now we just have to fill our empty spaces! Norv has had some late hours there ,building dividing walls for our packaging and storage room,and we had to have the floor in the new part stained AFTER a good scrubbing. And a wall had to be painted, one more to go and then we're done! Let the summer rush begin! We want to get started working outside and get my garden ready to plant!
